About AGSJ
Soul skater and photographer Patty Segovia organized the All Girl Skate Jam in 1997 as a way to recognize female skateboarders. To date there have been 15 AGSJ's. Its inclusive philosophy is reflected in its motto -- "All ages, all abilities, all girls." AGSJ tours nationally and internationally, uniting pro and amateur girls from around the world to skate competitively and have fun. Each event draws from 50 to 100 girls, depending on location. About 20 pro girls skate each event of the Jam, vying for cash prizes. The balance are amateurs of all abilities who compete for killer prizes. Competition includes amateur and professional divisions in street, vert and mini-ramp, depending on location. Every event donates proceeds to Cornucopia (Organization for the Mentally Ill).
